A Themed Wedding: Party Decor Possibilities
Every bride would want her wedding day to be unique, to the extent that family and friends will remember it for many years to come. Experimenting with different flowers, colors and decorations, allows you a multitude of choices, but they are still only variations of a basic theme. When you start looking at using wedding party decor, you open up a wealth of new possibilities, each with its own unique character, style and charm.
Although it is important to create an atmosphere of joy in the church, or wherever the actual ceremony will be held, your guests’ attention is mostly drawn to the actual proceedings, and of course your dress. Most of their time will be spent at the reception venue, and this is where the lasting impression will be created. If you think back to the weddings you have attended, you will find that most of the memories stored are from receptions.
Creating a theme for your wedding party decor will set it aside from “typical” wedding receptions. Unless you can borrow some pieces, it will probably cost you more, but it will be money well spent.
Be careful when you decide upon a theme. Being specific usually makes it easier to bring your ideas across, and to materialize them. Instead of opting for a garden theme, you would be better off working at creating a “spring flower” garden theme. The latter, being more specific, will make it easier to make decisions on pieces.
Next, have a good look at the venue. Can the lighting be adjusted to complement your theme? If not, you will have to come up with alternatives, or you will have to choose between the venue and the theme. Bright light could lay to waste all efforts to create an atmosphere. Similarly, see if the layout presents any bottlenecks. Picture the lines along which guests will be walking regularly, and plan accordingly.
As a starting point, create a striking center piece. It could be some old family pictures set into an elaborate frame, or a painting, or even (if you dare spend that much) the string quartet you booked for the event. It could be a huge bouquet, or an unusual wedding cake. Whatever you do, it has to start somewhere. Somewhere in plain sight of guests entering, where their eyes will focus immediately, and wander around to absorb the rest from there.
Having a visible, consistent theme throughout your wedding party decor will create a visual perception that will set your wedding apart from many others. You will be able to create an air of sophistication and style that will have your guests taking note, and remember your wedding for years to come.
