Wedding Planning Tips on a Small Budget

by Linda Brown

Planning your wedding should be a time when you are ready to make all your dreams come true. In order to make this dream a realization you should be able keep perfect records and lists of wants, needs, and definites. Preparing for your wedding should be absolutely the most awesome time of your life. When the time has come to plan your wedding, be completely sure that you have all that youve always desired written down on paper.

When the time has come upon you to choose your gown, reception hall, or any other aspect of your wedding, you must remember that there are many ways to save money in your budget. Most people will convey to you that its totally improbable to have your dream wedding on a budget, but do not believe them. Dissimilar to just about everyone’s opinion, you truly can have a breathtaking wedding without having to actually spend a fortune.

If a top priority of yours is to save lots of money, then understand that you cannot do that without creating a reasonable budget. Most couples really do not know where to start when planning. Just be aware that you must start with how much you are able to spend to begin with. If you want to achieve the preferred result of a memorable wedding on a shoestring, then please make the decision about how much money you have to spend before you start shopping for actual vendors.

Most couples who do not have a lot of money to spend on their wedding start off by looking for discounted items. If you know that you cannot spend a lot of money, then seeking what you need from sources that give discounts is a must. When your budget is crafted and you are aware of how much you have to spend for each entry, then you are able to proceed with finding everything to fit your budget.

When your wedding planning has begun, most couples feel like they are short of funds. In fact, some couples postpone their wedding because of a limited budget, but that is not necessary at all. If you are at a place where you are low on money to start your wedding planning, do not stop the going forward of your vows.

One area that can help you save money on your wedding is by restricting your guest list. As you start the planning of your wedding on a budget, the one single thing you can control is the number of guests you should invite. Bearing in mind that there are such a great many factors out of your control as you go toward your wedding date, cutting back on your guest list can truly help your budget.

One very important factor when planning a wedding on a budget is the food at the reception. If you want to stay within your budget for your wedding day, be careful about what you choose for the wedding dinner. Planning a wedding on a shoestring and succeeding many times will be totally over budget if you are determined to have a sit down dinner. Consider a buffet, a long cocktail hour, or fancy hors d’oeuvres which can be just as elegant, but will cost half the price.

To be successful when planning a wedding which will cost very little is learning to be flexible with many items, especially where you will have your reception. Saving money is possible as well as having a beautiful wedding, but many times the reception venue can blow your budget to bits. If you are bound and determined to have a wedding that you will not be paying off for years, then be extremely careful when choosing where you will have your reception. Consider parks, museum grounds, arboretums, or even local colleges. Wherever you have your wedding, remember your love is the most important thing.

How To Use Garden Wedding Favors or Asian Wedding Favors Effectively At Your Wedding

by Aaron Hu

When people hear of a garden wedding, the first image that appears in their heads is a backyard or a park, with a plethora of plants as decorations. Of course, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with having an outdoor wedding, or even using plants as decorations. The idea, however, is to make the wedding look like a natural paradise and not the garden section of the local big box store. Here’s how to use plants at your wedding without overdoing it.

The first consideration should be your guests. Anyone with allergies will be extremely uncomfortable if you have a lot of flowers or other pollen producing plants in their vicinity. How can you combat this? Ideally, you can make sure that the person in question is as far away from the offending plants as they can get. Or simply plan to use other versions of that plant. For instance, if you wanted roses as decorations, you could use the petals instead. For beautiful (but strong smelling) gardenias or jasmine, use climbing vines or bushes that don’t blossom, such as ivy or pine. Remember that your guests are there to celebrate your day with you, and if they are uncomfortable, your wedding will not be the success that you meant it to be.

No allergy problems that you can think of, as far as your guests and wedding party are concerned? Great! Move on to the type of plant you want for your decoration. Roses, again, are a traditional plant, and there are many ways to use them. Miniature versions make very pretty favors for a table, either by putting a pot on each one or by strewing tiny blossoms. Want to be really unique? Get a shot glass for each seat, fill it with water, and place the tiny blooms in there. Now you have a unique and pretty garden favor that won’t be forgotten anytime soon!

Perhaps you want garden favors and a garden based location. This is easily done; all you have to do is scout out your local park. You can call the parks and recreation services department in your area to reserve it; be careful, however, because city events take first priority. Besides, you would hate to plan your wedding on the same day as the founding fathers’ birthday, if for no other reason than it would make things a lot more complicated for your guests!

If you’re lucky, you may live near a Victorian house that doubles as a historical site and has a garden that you can rent for your wedding. Many times, these sites have very beautiful, well maintained areas. They may also be expensive, but guaranteed, they are worth every penny.

Last but not least, what happens if you’re stuck indoors and you still want a garden theme? You can simply decorate the room with a few well chosen plants. Again, to avoid allergy issues, you could do a lovely Asian theme with bamboo shoots in water, or bonsai trees. Cherry blossom sprigs are beautiful in tall glass vases as well. These centerpieces can easily be turned into favors for the table. Just be sure there’s no fighting over them as the guests leave your wedding!

Garden themed weddings can be impressive and fun without subjecting anyone to the miseries of allergies or breaking your budget. A little clever legwork and some consideration of thought can result in beautiful decorations that will enhance your wedding tenfold and make your reception the talk of the town.

Best Options For Wedding Guest Book and Wedding Pen

by Aaron Hu

What is the point of a guest book? To record the names and addresses of the people who attend your wedding. But often guest books contain much more than that. Addresses, phone numbers, maiden and married names–all of those are important to you as a bride. Because of its special nature, you must be sure to think about a few things when trying to decide on a guest book and pen.

Let your creativity shine in your choice of a guest book. Use a large sheet of white butcher paper for your guests to not just write, but draw or doodle on. Perhaps you could even use a blackboard or whiteboard for messages. For those who could not attend, set up a laptop for people to leave real time messages on your Facebook or MySpace.

You also have the option of going traditional for your guestbook. A simple white notebook that states “Guest Book” might just be perfect for your situation. A lovely feather pen would catch the attention of your guests, and wave appealingly as they write. You might also want a gold or silver or otherwise elegant pen to write with. If you would like to give your guests a challenge, leave out a calligraphy pen. Those who meet the challenge will leave beautiful, memorable script in your book.

Above all, don’t forget that your choice of guest book should correspond to your wedding. If your ceremony was very ecological in nature, then recycled paper and a “green” pen would be ideal. If your wedding was black tie, the traditional version will suffice. And if your wedding is based on a season, then a “seasonal” guest book would be an excellent idea. Things like a “message in a bottle” for a summer wedding, for instance, or fall leaves that you can leave messages on and hang up on your wall would work well. As long as your choice fits, it will look good with your reception.

Wedding pens can also be favors in and of themselves. You can find various types of pens, with options to personalize or decorate, on the internet or in specialty stores. You can make the pens specific to certain groups of people–one type for men and one for women, for instance. Or maybe one for adults and one for children (but keep it family friendly!). Children could have pens with cartoon characters on them, while adults could have flowers, mountains, or anything else you could imagine.

Never sell yourself short on your choice of writing utensils. Permanent markers in various colors can work. So can gel pens, or metallic ones. Even crayons and oils have their place. Make sure that you choose a writing utensil that fits with your choice of a guest book. Your butcher paper sign in sheet may look whimsical, but a fancy gold pen to sign it makes the whole thing look cheap. By the same token, that elegant gold and white guestbook is not being done justice by being signed in pink gel pen.

Make your guest book an important part of your reception. It may be the first thing that your guests see when they arrive, and the last thing that they see when they leave. As a result, your guest book should be noticeable, attractive, clever and unique. As they leave your party, give your guests something to remember.

Book ‘Em! Signing Your Guests Into Your Guest Book

by Aaron Hu

Your guest book might seem like a simple trifle to have at your wedding. Not very important, and one more obstacle between your guests and the reception. But the wedding guest book is a record of the people who have come to share in your special day. Not only that, but most of these people will leave their best wishes and (or course) contact information. Because they are giving you the gift of your presence, you should at least give them the gift of a beautiful book to write it in. Here are some things to consider when you get your guest book and pen.

Your guest book should be more than a school notebook or a few stapled sheets of paper. Your wedding will be classy and elegant, and remember that the first thing your guests will see is your guest book. They deserve to have something lovely and elegant to write in. By the same token, don’t leave an old, half used pen for your guests to use. Make it pretty and useful–something that they will look twice at before writing in your book. Again, your wedding is special; reinforce this by your choice of guest book and pen.

This is not to say, of course, that your guest book has to be a standard white faux leather covered number with gold lettering. Feel free to make it original. Why not create stationery and have your guests sign that? Or find a journal with nice lined paper and use that as a guest book. You could be even more creative and use a large stuffed toy and a permanent pen for your guests. Or frame a large, professionally done picture of yourself and your spouse to be and have a pen ready to sign it.

As far as pens are concerned, feather pens and fancy gold and silver pens are nice, but there is still room for creativity. Magic markers and Sharpies are just as effective, as are metallic pens. In certain venues, even crayons might be suitable for writing. And, of course, there is always pencil. Make sure that your choice of writing utensil is consistent with your choice of guest book. Using a monogrammed pen may work with stationery, but crayons may not work with a journal type book.

Wedding pens do not always mean “the pen with which one writes in the guest book.” They can also be given as favors. Imagine your guests’ faces when they realize that the pen that they are using at the table is theirs to keep! Ideally, you would give them the pens first, then direct them to the guest book. This can be arranged by having the guest book on the other side of the room, as opposed to being the entrance to the reception hall. Once your guests enter, they will find their seats and, of course, their pen. They will then see (or be directed to) the guest book on the other side of the hall, where they will find the guest book to sign with their favor. This is a perfect example of uniqueness and originality in your wedding.

Your guest book is important, but it does not have to be dull and ordinary. Make it a reflection of you and your future spouse–a teddy bear, some stationery, a framed picture. Your creativity will make your wedding truly yours, and make it unforgettable.

Look Great With Affordable Cubic Zirconia Jewelry

by Caroline Riaz

You are probably one of the people who own cubic zirconia earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and rings that are very much common throughout the world in terms of jewelry items. But do you know that the synthetic material of the items which substituted most of the diamonds today came from zirconium oxide? The cubic zirconia was not known before as it is so popular nowadays.

How Did Cubic Zirconia Jewelry Get Its Start?

The natural mineral that comes from the zirconium compound is the baddelyite. Scientists since 1892 could not use it commonly because science that time could not make use of the high melting point of the mineral. It was only in 1930?s that scientists were able to stabilize the zirconium compound and used as refractory material, the cubic zirconia was used as the substitute for the diamonds.

Cubic zirconia jewelry would really get its start in the 1960s as scientist sought better and more economical options for operating lasers and other optical applications. In a process known as cold crucible, molten zirconia was encased within a thin layer of solid zirconia and small crystals would form during the process.

After a decade, the processed was further developed into skull crucible. This process was done by heating a large canister of zirconium oxide powder through radio frequency while the outside part was cooled down by water. The cube shape of the zirconium crystals was stabilized through the yttrium oxide. To vary the colors of the cubic zirconia jewelries, some oxides were added in the procedures to produce colored crystals.

The crystals were cut just as how the diamonds were cut. The cut crystals can now be added to the jewelry items creating cubic zirconia rings, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and many more. The skull crucible method enabled most of the jewelers to produce cubic zirconia jewelry items as the dominant substitute for diamonds.

Why Choose Cubic Zirconia Jewelry?

Jewelry items like the cubic zirconia rings, charms, earrings, bracelets, necklaces, and some accessories do not need higher budgets if you have plans of buying some pieces. Actually, what made it very popular nowadays was its cheaper price than those precious gems. Despite the low price, the cubic zirconia jewelry items are very much the same with diamonds in appearance and quality.

Cubic zirconia jewelries are not only cheaper; these are also resilient and long-lasting. The shine of the crystal can last even for years. Since the cubic zirconia rings and different jewelry designs are cheaper and durable, you can afford to wear different sets each day without feeling bad when you lost one. Unlike with diamonds which are hard to accept when stolen or lost. With just a small amount of money, you can now purchase your own favorite designs of jewelries and accessories. You can surely wear a set that will match your outfit for the day. Even for some special occasions, you can wear bright shining colored gems in your ears, neck, fingers, and arms to accentuate your gowns or elegant dresses.

Cubic zirconia engagement rings, wedding rings or anniversary rings are beautiful pieces to give your attended and are flawless synthetic gems that will shine brightly during the wedding. Vintage or antique inspired, heart cut or princess cut cubic zirconia rings look just like real diamonds but are easier on your pocket book. Want to live it up like a celebrity but on a budget? A beautiful sterling silver wedding set with a large yellow cubic zirconia in the center and two bands of clear cubic zirconia is low priced but makes a bold statement. Allowing you to put more money into planning a one of a kind wedding, having an exotic honeymoon or paying for your first home.

There are different available designs like the vintage or antique inspired crystals and the heart cut or princess cut designs. The cubic zirconia rings show exactly like the real diamond stones in appearance and quality but the price is much lower. This gives you a better option for your other expenses.

The cubic zirconia jewelry items are also ideal to wear on special events and formal gatherings. You can wear a set of cubic zirconia jewelries, which include the ring, necklace, bracelet, and earrings, that will accentuate your elegant attire. All the people around you will surely admire the brilliance of your cubic zirconia jewelries. Even for men who are fashion-minded, there are also cubic zirconia rings and other items that will bring out the appeal in you.

Personalize Wedding Favors and Personalized Wedding Favor Boxes Give You That Special Reception

by Aaron Hu

Personalized wedding favors are a wonderful way to specialize your wedding. As a guest, there’s nothing like the satisfaction of having something special to remember your wedding by. As the bride or groom, there’s nothing like knowing you’ve given a guest yet another item to talk about when they leave your party. These favors make your wedding special; here’s how to make sure you do it right.

First of all, make sure that you’ve figured out how to personalize your favor. Do you want to have your names on it? That would make your favor a reminder of your special day. How about a symbol of the two of you? Maybe the theme of the wedding can be used. Whatever you choose, make it special and unique. Give your guests a reason to keep your favor, instead of letting it collect dust with others that they’ve received over the years. Another way to personalize a favor is to put your guests’ individual names on them. A guest always feels special when they realize that their favor is designed especially for them. It shows that they were thought about during the process of planning for the wedding, and who wouldn’t love to know that they are appreciated?

Personalized favor boxes are also an excellent idea. They are just large enough to hold a treat, but instead of dropping in a kiss or a chocolate candy, why not include a short personal note? You don’t have to write a letter, but a simple heartfelt “Thanks for coming!” will make your guests feel loved and wanted, and make your favor even more special. As a result, your favor will not only be attractive, but practical too.

Now you should decide how to distribute your favors. The ushers could give them away to the guests just before the wedding. Or how about another twist and have the flower girl or ring bearer pass them out as they walk down the aisle? You could still be traditional and have them placed on tables as guests enter the reception hall, of course. However you do it, make sure that they get to your guests.

You can also distribute your favors by guest. Give a certain kind of favor to the bride’s family, another to the groom’s, and another to the wedding party. Perhaps a special favor could be given to the children in the group. Often, they tend to be overlooked when it comes to gifts; they deserve their own present to let them know that their presence is also appreciated.

Last but not least, remember to make your favors classy and elegant. Your friends and family should have something to talk about when they leave your party, but in a good way. They shouldn’t feel embarrassed or uncomfortable over your choice of gifts. A favor should be something pretty and special, not something that guests will want to forget about or leave behind.

Personalized favors and favor boxes are a really great way to give your reception or wedding that special touch. It can make your party something to remember, which is what any bride or groom would want. Your guests, in turn, will cherish their favor as a reminder of your day. Whether you use your name or your guests’ names on them, you’ll create memories that will last forever.

Bath and Body: Special Favors For Your Special Day

by Aaron Hu

Who needs Jordan almonds or confetti? Forget about silly jewelry boxes or tacky figurines. You are a bride who wants something unique and practical for your guests. And what’s more practical than soap? Everyone can use it and it’s always in demand. Here’s how to find and use soap as favors for your wedding.

First and foremost, soap comes in many different shapes and sizes. You can find tiny dog shapes, medium size trucks, or large fizzy balls. Needless to say, you might want to use small soaps as favors. However, the larger ones might work well as centerpieces. Be creative with your choices. The soaps don’t necessarily have to match the theme of the wedding; they can be completely unrelated. And mix it up. Different soaps can represent different tables, and guests can be seated according to soap style. It’s a unique way of seating , and your guests will appreciate it too.

Second, soaps can have varying scents as well. Choose a pleasant scent that will please your guests. Roses are nice, as are jasmine and honeysuckle. If you’re not into flowers, pick a woodsy scent, like pine or water. The bonus to picking the latter is that you won’t alienate your male guests. And ideally, you can combine the two to find a unique soap with a wonderful smell. You also don’t have to rely on natural scents. A cotton candy scent would be great for a Christmas wedding. Don’t forget that some of your guests may have allergies to scents; make sure you have unscented versions for them as well, and store them separately so they don’t take on the scents of the other soaps.

Soaps aren’t the only thing you can use. Bath salts are another way to treat your guests to a clean up. They also come in various sizes and shapes, and scents as well. It can be quite difficult to make your own soap, but making your own bath salts is easy. There are many different recipes on the internet, and you can tailor them to fit your own personal tastes.

Bath oils are yet another option. Also easy to make, you can personalize them to fit your guests. The ladies in your wedding party might like the scent of cinnamon, while the male members of your family might prefer a licorice scent. Make scented oils for all of them and watch the smiles commence!

Since bath salts and oils are so easy to make, why not make a party out of it? Get your bridesmaids and groomsmen together for a favor making party. You provide the supplies–the salts, the oils, the scents, the bottles or cans to put them in–and they will provide the labor. It’s a great way to get your party to get to know each other better, and it’s a wonderful team building activity too. After everything is done, they can help decorate the gifts for the guest. Make sure you get pictures of this event–it will be a source of amazing memories, and won’t embarrass you in the future.

You don’t need to stick to just soaps or oils. You can give guests gift packs made up of washcloths or maybe even towels. Color code them to the wedding shades, or make them complementary colors instead. A relaxing CD of classical music and a set of tealights would also work well. If you really want to go all out, add two wineglasses and an inexpensive bottle of wine. After all, a bath doesn’t just have to be a time to clean up; it can be a time of luxury and calm. You can still include soaps, but remember that that doesn’t have to be the only choice.

Bath soaps and oils are a great way to jazz up your favors. Your guests will love each and every one, and you’ll have gifts that will be remembered forever.
