How to Capture Candid Wedding Moments With a Digital Camera

by Susannah Singer

The wedding day is probably the top memory for people to try and keep alive. Couples will usually hire a professional digital wedding photographer to capture this most important day for them. There is no reason why a DVD can’t be made of the occasion to complement the photos!

If you are taking photographs without help, it isn’t easy to create that perfect shot as there is only so much you can do on your own. Ensuring photos taken with your digital camera are something special for your friends or relations on their big day might be a little easier once you have read the tips in this article.

First, if you want to take a picture of the couple or any other guest, make sure that the background is good and the shot will not be too crowded. Don’t worry too much if you can’t get a full body shot of the couple as you can get around this problem by taking a portrait shot of them which will solve the problem.

Try to get guests that have spectacles on to either remove them or hold their head at an angle so that there isn’t a reflection obscuring their eyes. If you are shooting into the light, remember to compensate and increase the aperture otherwise the couple (or guests) will appear dark in the image.

Candid shots are also dramatic and these portraits often reveal more than the quality of the picture itself. In fact, many professionals use the zoom to capture intimate and memorable moments. With digital wedding photography always remember to be ready for the shot as it saves people posing and looks more natural.

To ensure that no great moment is missed, your digital camera should be equipped with enough memory. In other words, make sure to have an extra memory card – especially if you want to preserve as many moments as possible. Something to go by is, if your camera has a 6 mega pixel resolution, you will need a large storage capacity card – a 1 gigabyte card should be sufficient – that will hold a few hundred shots at high resolution.

If you intend to have the pictures blown up to a large size you will need to ensure your cameras resolution is set to maximum. Storing the wedding images on a computer or CD will mean that you can print them off whenever you want but a presentation CD can be played back on a TV.

If you are used to regular film photography, you may find the change to digital wedding photography a little strange at first. But persist and you may find you enjoy it more.

Pregnancy and Yoga

by Laurie Vander

Chances are that if you are in your third trimester, you are also on maternity leave. This is perfect, since now you will have time to get started with some prenatal yoga. By simply doing gentle stretches and poses, your body and your baby will reap benefits. Always be sure to let your doctor know beforehand that you are interested in starting a prenatal yoga program or if you have any health concerns. Also, if you are taking a yoga class, be sure to inform your instructor that you are pregnant so that he/she can adjust the poses accordingly.

Yoga is all about forming a mind-body connection, so be sure to listen to your body. If something feels uncomfortable or hurts, stop doing it! Also try to focus on your breathing while practicing your yoga, as this will come in handy during labor.

Some third trimester approved poses include Pigeon, Warrior II, Triangle and Knee to Ankle. These are good for loosening up your hips. By practicing all four of the Cat and Cow positions, you are also helping to position your baby properly for birth.

Keep in mind that certain poses that were okay during your second trimester must be done with more caution. You should avoid jumping, belling twists, deep back bends and any abdomen stretches. Also steer clear of any poses that require you to lie on your belly.

While the physical aspects of yoga are great for your pregnant body, it is also beneficial to learn to control your breathing. This will help with your breathing exercises when you go into labor. Try slow, long inhales through your nose and then slowly exhale through your mouth. This is a great way to increase the oxygen flow to your body, as well as reduce stress and anxiety. Another wonderful thing about doing prenatal yoga is that it will make loosing your baby weight easier.

It doesn’t matter if you are in the early stages of pregnancy or at the very end, yoga is a great tool for preparing your body and mind for the realm of motherhood.

Wedding Cake Decorating For the Faint of Heart

by Peter Mason

Wedding care decorating thus far has been left to the pros; after all, so many a bride and groom to be reasoned, what did they know about seasonable techniques, tips, and tricks anyways? In recent years – perhaps due to the encouragement offered by shows on national television that showcase the average person doing that what so far appeared to be the domain of the expert – the trend is reversing and many an adventurous couple is taking decorating not only the facility of banquet hall but also the cake by themselves.

Since the wedding cake is a major expense, it is not surprising that so many a budget conscious couples decides to try their own hands at decorating and there are but a few tips and tricks to keep in mind before allowing your imagination free reign.

First and foremost, set up a practice cake. This does not have to be of the same elaborate make and model as the actual wedding cake, and a home baked sheet cake will do nicely. The goal is to get you to use the cake decorating tools and to learn how they are handled, how the icing will feel, how the substances will spread, and how they will not flow – in spite of ads to the difference. Play with them and try out some of the decorations to see how they look on the cake.

Secondly, do not go overboard with the dcor. A mistake most often made by beginners, overly intricate designs do precious little to enhance taste of style, while in fact they may actually detract from the overall appearance of the wedding cake. Something as simple as the groom’s marriage proposal written on the cake can be appealing.

It goes without saying that having all the appropriate tools needed for the job is important; that said, it is surprising to see so many would be cake decorators trying to make do with toothpicks and homemade piping bags, only to find out that these will not do the same job as the professional tools. In addition to the foregoing, do not skimp on the icing and buy the high quality mix rather than the cheap on sale stuff that may have already expired a long time ago.

Do not fret if perfection is not your forte, but remember that if all else fails, icing covers a multitude of mistakes, and if you find at the last minute that cake decorating simply is not working as well for you as perhaps you had envisioned, remember that there is no shame in purchasing pre-made sugar flowers and ornaments which may then be fastened to the cake with the help of strategically placed dollops of icing.

Of course, for the fearless couple who do not fret if the cake looks a bit peculiar, why not include seasonable non-edible items that symbolize the new union and thus may be a bit more of a sentimental addition to the cake than strictly ornamentation. In this case it is advisable to either remove them prior to serving or ensuring that the guests are well aware that some portions of the cake should not be eaten! Another great idea is to write the groom’s marriage proposal right on the cake!

Do not allow yourself to be swayed by a wedding ring that will, as soon as it is worn, spoil the look of the engagement ring; some rings have been made to complement each other and these should be the type you seek. Try on different wedding bands and sit them next to the engagement ring to see how they look together.

Despite the huge range of materials that can are used these days, the most popular are yellow gold, rose gold, white gold, and platinum. Titanium is gaining in popularity, and silver is also occasionally used for wedding rings.

Ensuring the wedding rings fit perfectly is essential. Try to imagine that neither ring fitting on the wedding day and you will understand why this is so important. It is just as important to ensure the rings are not so loose that there is a chance they will be lost.

The jeweler should be given plenty of time to complete this task because there may be others he is adjusting rings for. Make certain that you give plenty of time before your wedding day for both choosing and for adjustments to be made. Choosing wedding bands you will both like and that match the engagement ring may take some time. Allow for this as it is not uncommon for couples to choose in haste and then regret their decision later.

The public has the right of access to many of the government records too. One example is Public Marriage Records.

Both the license and certificate are entered as marriage records into the respective files of the new spouses. They will then be maintained as public records at the county or state where the marriage has taken place, whichever is the prevailing practice. Being public records, they will be subject to public retrieval and view as long as procedures are complied with and fees are paid.

Conducting marriage records search is often contentious. Except for super-snoops, people have better things to do than prying others’ private lives. It is usually done on those who are more than acquaintance, and ironically with whom we relate with fondness. Inherently, it infringes the expectation of trust. Tussle between the sense and the feelings, there is never an outright correct answer.

The Benefits of Using Digital Wedding Photography

by Susan Atkinson

Wedding photos are an important part of every ceremony and in the past many pictures failed to meet your expectations. Especially large group photos can be influenced by someone looking in the wrong direction or having their eyes closed. With digital wedding photography this can be a non-issue as pictures can be reviewed and any that do not make the pictorial grade can be deleted and taken again while the photographer is still at the wedding.

Another benefit to digital wedding photography is not having to wait until the photo is developed before starting to think about which ones you want printed. Many times, your developer can email you a copy of the photos he took and you can pick and choose right on your computer. Also, enhancing pictures in digital format is so much easier, and consequently cheaper, than in the darkroom.

It is possible to have your photos put on a disk for easier distribution to family and friends at a rate substantially lower than ordering extra copies. Typically, prints should also be cheaper made from digital wedding photography than traditional photography as the developing step has been eliminated.

Digital is Sharper

Many times photo photography tends to be a little darker, especially when viewing the unaltered prints while digital wedding photography allows the photographer to lighten images as well as adjust colors to create a better photograph. Even if the wedding was held outdoors, the sky can be made to look clear and blue by using digital wedding photography and the correct photo enhancing software.

A general rule of thumb is no picture considered as digital wedding photography should be taken with less than five mega pixel if you plan on making copies up to eight by ten inches. A minimum of six pixels should be used for larger copies. Provided the correct pixel resolution is utilized, enlargement should look similar to professionally finished prints. While an professional professional wedding photographer will almost guarantee your wedding album will be perfect, digital wedding photography opens the door to better quality photos from your won family members.

If you do choose to use your own digital wedding photography instead of hiring a professional, obtaining reprints will be faster and easier. With many systems you can print your own on your home computer and printer. You can also digitally transfer them to a printing service for better quality copies.
